Amazon Reccomends..
this is a interesting bit of reading.
Amazon is now using their database, collected from us for free no doubt, to advertise products.
I suppose this was inevitable. Ethics seem to eventually have to go out the window, no matter what business you’re in.
I had a little fun playing with internet music encoding [getting ready to hook up Radio Alchymy]. You can now listen to random songs selected from off of sheer’s hard drive at sheer radio, and skip songs you can’t stand with this link. Whee!

I hate to point out that they’ve been doing this for a while 🙂
There was an interesting interview on NPR about a year ago with the head marketing chick at Amazon talking about the building of community on the internet with things that get people’s attention (ie. their “Other People Who Liked This Product Also Bought:). Remember that business people are shameless and usually have a low moral level.

I thought the song idea sounded interesting, so I tried it. Clicking on the “sheer radio” link brought up WinAmp, which proceeded to buffer and play several ultra-fast Alvin and the Chipmunks selections. Do I need a special program to access this?
