D18 draws to a close. DIdn’t get as much Brett-work done today as I had hoped, although I did get a con call and some more playing with Flex.

THe day counter keeps on incrementing.

I did get a quick studio session in, recording gangsta rap. This is pre-EQ, pre-compression, ‘by-hand-on-the-fly’ mixdown, but if you all want to hear some gangsta rap as recorded by Sheer Sound Studios, check out http://www.sheer.us/stuff/soloman/Soloman-YoungBlockTycoon.mp3

Just for you all’s amusement, I’ll leave it streaming in a playlist of other faves from various artists who have found their way down here on WSHR tonight.

Once more, remember, that URL is www.wshr.us or www.wshr.org – live streaming from Seattle, WA

Okay, so..

I worked on my bipolar tracking software some more. It still doesn’t do a hundredth of the things I’d like it to, but it’s starting to approach functionality. I know it’s silly to write specialized software for a biological condition, especially since there are probably a ton of bipolar management packages out there already, but we all know how to a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail…

Well..

The motorcycle that I purchased against Phoebe’s advice – which got driven a total of ten miles – is now out of my life. I feel 250 lbs lighter.

Also the folding bicycle that Mark Anthony left here.

I’m trying to get rid of the scooters that were collatoral for a loan that was never repaid. I’d like to be down to one electric scooter – the one that Phoebe won from Echo for me, which is still my favorite although I think it would have trouble with my current weight. Actually, I’d really like one based on that design but with a few functional improvements. I could make suggestions. 😉

Alex, my new UU minister friend, or more to the point his church, might take my oldest passive system. It’d be nice to think it was getting used somewhere, because I’m sure not likely to use it with all my Kwalitee Mackie gear.

(i’ve been thinking.. if the tax man ever comes to foreclose, or the bank, or whoever, I do NOT own a recording studio or a sound system. That gear is all borrowed. You all will just have to figure out who’s it really is. Cuz I’m clueless as to who I borrowed it from)

This is just a first rough approximation. I’m planning on updating it as things get more under control.

Day 18 begins..

April 11th, 2006

With a serious yawn. I couldn’t sleep very well last night – went to sleep at like 4a, after taking Lunestra at 3:10 or so.

I think maybe a slightly higher dose of thst might be called for. I’ll talk to Woody about it the next time I see him.

But, anyway. I might have a guy coming to lay some tracks in the studio tonight, there might be a crew coming to remove the motorcycle tonight (for which I actually am being paid, mark me astonished)

Well, time to prepare to face the day..

Must.. go.. buy.. coffee..

So I have these DEC multias that haven’t booted in about ten million years, and I’m thinking about putting one of them back in service to drive my monthly calander ‘on the wall’.

I don’t know. I’m trying to come up with ways to use the tools that surround me to build organizational structures that help me to find my way around my life without being so terrified, lost, confused, harried, cluttered, overworked, or..

It’s day 17.

My shrink had me watch Bitter MOon. I made it to 1:21 before I pressed stop. I’m not sure how he’s going to react to me having pressed stop, but I can’t tell you anything else that was reasonable to do.

Now to install a version of MediaWiki for Fisix, and then to bed.

I keep wanting..

I keep wanting to place orders at digikey for my BMS, start movement forward based on the design I beleive in, which involves transformer isolation rather than optical isolation. And then I remember that I liked EVIL as a standard..

I don’t know. EVIL just feels so delicately balanced. The transformer isolated version is very, very not subtle.

Day 16 draws to a close.

I’m very tired.

Didn’t get as much done with FDS today as I wanted to, but at least I’ve got Flex back to where it’s working. (my previous install had expired, and then it took me a while to figure out that it’s now stored under Adobe rather than Macromedia since Adobe bought Macromedia. Fun fun fun.

Suggestion..

In order to improve life for all humans on the planet, we should let all Federal Agents go home with pay. In fact, we should MAKE them go home with pay.

Face it, we don’t need cops that report to the federal government. Cops should always report to and be accountable to the local community. Otherwise, we end up with tragedies like the drug war.

In fact, I’m inclined strongly to disband the federal government and call a constitutional convention. Invite *anyone*. Publicize it widely, use wiki technology and data terminals in public libraries to rebuild the constitution, making it take into account modern viewpoints and modern technology. Not that the original constitution isn’t a work of art.. but look around us. People being shot, people afraid to leave their houses.. the original constition was a great idea, but it doesn’t scale very well to 280 million people. We need a better document, and I think both the Left and Right know it, in their bones. The ‘net and birth control and a bunch of other technological innovations changed the rules.

What’s needed first is a very hard, deep look at what money is, what control is, and why authority is dangerous

But then, this is coming from someone who would largely restrict parental authority over children, who can not deal with any authority that isn’t friendly and on his side, and who thinks that the cold war people should all be ashamed of themselves and every single one of them should help to dismantle this mess of atomic bombs that they put togeather.

New rule: You can only launch a atomic bomb if you are willing to first fly to the location and stand at ground zero while the strike occurs.

My new pet peeve: Answering machines which cut me off.
