88 Honda Accord LXi EV - Batteries</TITE> <BODY> My EV had two different battery packs at two different periods in time. The first battery pack was a bunch of 25 AH Hawker Cyclons purchased surplus. Don't do this for your operating pack, because you will NOT like what happens. I had several cells blow apart explosively under load, and several cells fail [nonexplosively] under load before I got a pack good enough to drive the car for short distances on.<P> My second pack is made of <A HREF=http://www.evercel.com>Evercells</A>. These are 83AH 40lb monoblocks, and since I have 22 of them, my whole pack weighs 880 lbs. My car is well within it's factory GVWR, and has a range of between 80 and 120 miles on the freeway, depending on how the car is operated. These Evercels are worth noting especially because when purchased in quanity, they are price equivilant <I>per watthour</I> with Optima yellow tops [high end AGMs].<P> </BODY> </HTML>
